American Girl Bistro

We had a blast at the Bistro on Tuesday. Who knew we could spend so much money in such a short amount of time? Liberty had decided she wanted to get a new pair of shoes for her Bitty Baby. She even picked a pair as soon as we got there. All was good. Until she saw the Diaper Bag. Who knew you can spend more on a diaper bag for a doll than you would for a diaper bag for your own flesh and blood? Yee-gads! So, back went the shoes, and off the shelf went the diaper bag. She enjoyed the Bistro much more than I thought she would. Liberty is a mix of Katie and Mikayla, that's for sure. Katie even enjoyed the store. I had taken her to the American Girl Place in NYC when Mike was deployed the first time, so she already had an idea of what the Bistro would be like. She hadn't planned to buy anything, but ended up with the Irish Dance Outfit. She is a little freaked out by the wig it comes with though. She has decided that she doesn't want to get rid of it, but her doll won't wear it. HA! Mikayla....oh Mikayla. She was in heaven, that's for sure. However, it was a bit of decision overload for her. She knew she could get two outfits, after all...it was part of her birthday present! Two outfits was too hard to choose when there were about 30 she wanted! I don't know how many outfits she took off the shelf and then put back on when she found something else she wanted. She even said, "Mommy, will you promise to buy me these other two outfits for Christmas if I don't get them today?" Sorry chickie...doesn't work that way. heehee. She actually ended up with three outfits, because one she chose was a two-in-one outfit. She seems pleased with her decision though. Here are some photos for your viewing pleasure.....

We did go to an awesome yarn store too. I'll post about that later. :-) You can also read about our trip over at Becca's. We had some issues finding a place to eat, but it all ended well. We really did have a great time. Liberty talked to Mike about it this morning. He asked her if she got some new stuff. She said, "Yes, but not enough. I wanted to get more." Little stinker.
